Zimbra Weekly: E-mail access limited during migration
Note: This weekly post serves to detail Zimbra features; update the K-State community with new project information; and answer questions submitted via InfoTech Tuesday and the K-State Zimbra website.
Beginning 6 p.m. Friday, May 29, and continuing until Sunday evening, May 31, the university’s migration to K-State Zimbra will impact all K-Staters’ access to send and receive K-State e-mail. No mail will be lost during the migration.
During the migration, you will not be able to send or receive K-State e-mail. Both incoming and outgoing e-mail will be held and then delivered when the migration is complete Sunday evening, May 31. K-State e-mail that you have automatically forwarded to another address or client such as Outlook or the Salina faculty/staff e-mail system will be sent when the migration is complete. Your mail will NOT be lost, but simply held until the migration is complete.
This impacts all mail that uses the K-State servers, including third-party clients and mobile devices.
Additionally, WebMail (webmail.ksu.edu) access will be locked during the migration. You will not be able to view, send, or receive e-mail using WebMail until the migration is complete.
K-State Online e-mail is also affected because it makes use of our enterprise e-mail system. Mail you send from K-State Online during this time will be held and then delivered when the university-wide migration to K-State Zimbra is complete. No mail will be lost.
During the weekend of May 29-31, you can check the K-State Zimbra website for migration updates. For questions about the e-mail migration contact the IT Help Desk, 785-532-7722 or 800-865-6143, helpdesk@k-state.edu.
